Picked
David took some good tadpole shots that I wanted to share with you.
The tadpoles like to hang around the rock in the pond. They don't seem to do much - just sit. We have at least three 'clutches' of tadpoles.
Some quite small ones, some middling ones and some thumpers who are getting their back legs and who are already contemplating being frogs. You can see it in their lovely dark eyes. (Click on the picture to get a bigger format and look into its eyes...)
And maybe there will be more to come? I can here the 'plonking ' of frogs right now!

Oh yay - I love tadpoles - I must get a bucket and see if I can fish some from mum & dads dam - they've had heaps of frogs this year so hopefully tadpoles.
ReplyDeleteMe too! I don't have chooks, I would really love to have chooks but I am overseas for work too much and it wouldn't be fair on my neighbours. But if I can't have chooks I CAN have self-managed frogs, I know they are not the same sort of thing but they make me so happy. It feels so good to provide as habitat for a increasingly rare creature in our suburbs.
DeleteGreat shots of the tads. I am hoping to put a pond of sorts in the garden too, but got lots of other things to do first in the garden to get it up and going, so far - its just the herb section.
