Found feathers

We are privileged to have some outstanding bird life at Highfield. Occasionally our birdy visitors leave a little feather for us to find and treasure. Here are a few of the feathers we have found at Highfield.

If  admiring the beauty of birds is your thing then you might also be interested in this post on fallen nests.

  1. Amazing! That first feather is so incredible that it doesn't look real! Just showed these pics to my boys (7&9yo) and they are similarly impressed. They are planning a holiday to find feathers like these!

  2. I love birds, I think you know that! Those feathers are beautiful. ALL feathers are beautiful, I admire those from my eggy-friends, too.

I don't collect things so much these days but when I was young I collected sooo many things from nature. It is a wondorous thing, is it not?

    1. Lots of birds of all sorts, I guess its the colourful ones that show up in the grass. We DO have lots of different parrotty things: sulphur crested, gang gang, galah and king, red-rumped, Eastern, crimson and turquoise parrots.
