We have been profiled in House and Garden magazine! My blog even gets mentioned!
Well, the article isn't really about 'us' and it is certainly not about our house or garden. The article is actually about the Nature Conservation Trust - the body we are working with to protect the endangered habitat on Highfield.
It's the Jan '14 issue ( which strangely is already on the newsagent's shelves). Take a look if you are interested.
Please ignore the photo of the Herefords on my neighbour's property mistakenly assumed by the photographer or editor to be my Dexters. It's a shame, my Dexters are much prettier...
Cool! I'll check it out!
ReplyDeleteOh thanks Camilla!
DeleteCongratulations! On both the article and the wonderful contribution you are making to Australia's conservation effort.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Ms L! The best part about this little blogging community is that we are all doing out tiny little bits and those doing their bit in the cities are arguably doing the most numbers wise... Thanks so much for your support and keep growing.
DeleteWhat a pleasant coincidence I'm enjoying this afternoon. Here I am working my first day as a casual sub-editor at House & Garden magazine, flicking through the mag to get a taste of how it's done, and I spot not only your story but also your blog link. When I saw those Dexters in the pic I thought to myself "are they Dexters?" but as I'm not that crash-hot on my cattle breeds, I thought nothing of it until I saw your comment. I've passed on the news to the cattle ID department here, of course. It also turns out that I am already a reader of your blog (and that you also read my gardening blog) as I recognised your web page the moment I landed here. You're doing a great job with both your property and your blog, keep up the excellent work.

Oh that's funny! Perhaps they should print a retraction and publish a picture of my beautiful black Irish girls...
DeleteGood luck with your new role!
Of course that was a joke about the retraction! Thanks so much for your support! BTW, if H&G need a cattle breed identifier I am up for the post.
DeleteVery cool! I'll be sure to check it out!
ReplyDeleteHouse and Garden's readership may go up by a few, this edition! I'll be keeping my eye out, too. Well done, Louise and 'the lad'. You are doing great work and I love reading about it.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Matt showed me the article which is very impressive. I feel like I know you so well through your brother :-)
