The lovely people at Handmade Web - Emma and Anthony - did the logo for us for us. I've been doing the website which has been a pleasant challenge.
We really love the logo and we hope that it portrays our aims of both conserving our rare woodland and farming great lamb.
Soon we will be trying our first lambs, soon we will be selling lamb packs from our farm gate.
We've been here just over a year now and it seems that we have come a long way in such a relatively short time. What a year it has been!
I like the simplicity of the logo - it looks great. I can't wait to see the website. Any chance you will be selling lamb packs transported to Melbourne???
ReplyDeleteHi Bek, I might have to consider it! Today we are taking our first two little lambs off to the MPW ( that's the Meat Processing Works). It's a short trip - just into Gundagai. The our local butcher will cut to our specifications and we will do a taste test. After that we will work out the kind of packs we offer and work out approximate weights and prices. Then...
DeleteLove the logo! And I had to buy a copy of House and Garden this week, a really interesting article, great to hear another perspective on what you are doing. And it did lead me to check out the Trust for Nature Vic website... ;)
ReplyDeleteOh thanks so much! All praise to Handmade Web!
DeleteThanks for learning about us and others doing the same thing. Sean Dooley the Bird watcher and comedy writer who came to our bird breakfast has a property in Chiltern thru the Victorian equivalent.
It's beautiful Louise! And it's also a little spooky, because I'm about to launch a new logo this week too, and it's also black and white. Great minds, huh!
ReplyDeleteI'll check out the website now.
Oh thanks, and I can't wait to see yours. And I was a little worried that you thought our logo spooky! Black and white is the best.
DeleteI think it's great, too! Love the little lamby! They are so cute with their black faces. My ambition is to have a blog (never mind a website!) one day. It's on the list of things to do when I wind-down. I'm always impressed with how people such as yourself can maintain a blog when you have such a busy life.
ReplyDeleteI love our sheep. With such a small flock ( for now at least) we have the opportunity to identify individuals and notice their qualities. I do have favourite ewes ( Big Mumma and Brown Tummy) and favourite lambs too making it a little tricky when it comes to turning the boy lambs into lamb... but I also feel excited at producing our own food.
ReplyDeleteThe Blog, Website and also Facebook now all takes time but eventually I will be using the website and the Facebook to sell my lamby packs so necessary ( I think) for selling from Farm Gate. The blog is still the fun bit!
Congratulations on your website which I've had a sneaky peak at. I've subscribed to your newsletter. Matt also showed me the article in the latest Australian House and Garden magazine. Well done!
ReplyDeleteOh thanks Mel! I'll have to get a newsletter out!
DeleteBTW, I think I need to contact you via email to get advice on a spinning wheel...
My email addy is mjonker@optusnet.com.au I'll give as much advice as I can as I'm quite new to spinning wheels too....even though I have accumulated five!
